Heart-rate and power sensors
In this guide
Heart rate
A heart-rate sensor shows how your body is responding to the effort, measured in beats per minute (bpm). Wear a chest strap snugly against bare skin and moisten both electrode pads before pairing; a dry strap often takes longer to start reading.
When heart-rate data is available, BikeNet records your average and maximum, how much of the ride had a valid reading, and the time spent in each configured heart-rate zone.
Power
A power meter measures the work you are producing at the pedals, crank, or hub and reports it in watts. Turn the cranks several times to wake the meter before trying to connect.
BikeNet gives measured power priority over estimated power. A completed ride can include average and maximum power, total work, data coverage, and time in each configured power zone.
If readings are missing
A paired sensor may show Asleep or Out of range when BikeNet has not heard from it recently. Move the phone closer, wake the sensor, and refresh. If it repeatedly disappears during a ride, check or replace its battery and make sure another phone or app has not taken the Bluetooth connection.
Follow the sensor manufacturer’s instructions for calibration or zero-offset procedures. Pairing a power meter does not calibrate it automatically.
