NXS

Update NXS firmware

Install required or available firmware safely over Bluetooth.

Before updating

A firmware update temporarily puts the component into update mode and transfers a complete software package over Bluetooth. Prepare the bike and phone first so the connection is not interrupted.

  • Charge the bike system before you begin. Do not start with a low battery.
  • Keep the component awake and the phone within one metre of it.
  • Make sure BikeNet has Bluetooth or Nearby Devices permission.
  • Leave BikeNet open in the foreground until the entire transfer is complete.

Install

  1. Open Bike Setup and select the component showing Update required or Update available.
  2. Review the current and available versions and release notes.
  3. Choose Update firmware.
  4. Wait through download, preparation, target discovery, and transfer.
  5. Do not switch apps until BikeNet reports completion.

If the update does not finish

Keep the bike powered, bring the phone close, and try the update once more. Note the stage and any error message shown in BikeNet; that information helps support tell whether the failure happened during download, discovery, or transfer.

Reinstall firmware writes the current package again. It is intended to recover from an incomplete or damaged installation, not as routine maintenance, so use it only when BikeNet Support asks you to. If an update fails twice, stop retrying and open a support ticket.
