Secure the rear shifter with a PIN
Replace the factory PIN and reconnect on another phone.
Change the factory PIN
- When BikeNet warns that the controller still uses 1111, choose to secure the bike.
- Verify the current PIN.
- Enter a new four-digit PIN other than 1111.
- Enter it again and confirm.
Using another phone
The PIN belongs to the rear shifting controller, not to one particular phone. When a new or reinstalled copy of BikeNet needs to authenticate with the controller, enter the same four digits.
This PIN is separate from your Google account password and changing one does not change the other.
Keep the PIN somewhere safe
BikeNet cannot look up or recover a forgotten hardware PIN. The recovery option is to reset the controller, which removes information stored on that rear shifter and requires the system to be set up again.
Store the PIN in a password manager or another secure place you can reach when changing phones or servicing the bike.
